Reeded glass photo effect

Reeded (or fluted) glass is the ribbed glass used in shower screens and café windows. Each rib works like a thin lens, so whatever is behind it gets sliced into stretched, repeating strips. It turns busy photos into calm, abstract backdrops — popular for posters, album covers and wallpapers.

How to use it

Upload a colorful photo — flowers, city lights or bold shapes look best.
Pick Fluted, Fine reeded or Wavy, then set the number of ribs and the distortion.
Add Frost to soften it, then download.

Fewer, wider ribs keep the subject recognizable; many thin ribs make it abstract.
Bright, saturated colors survive the distortion better than muted ones.
Use it to make a background, then put text or a product on top in the canvas.

Questions

What is reeded glass?

Glass with parallel ribs pressed into one side. Each rib bends light a little, so the view behind it breaks into repeating stretched strips.

Can the ribs run sideways?

Yes — choose Vertical, Horizontal or Wave in Direction.

How do I make it blurrier, like frosted glass?

Raise Frost. It softens everything seen through the glass without changing the ribs.
