What is Filmmaker?
Filmmaker is PopNow's AI film maker for stories that run longer than one clip. A film is a project made of scenes and shots, and you take it through six stages: plan, script, cast, storyboard, shoot and cut. Every stage leaves something you can see and edit, like a script, a character sheet or a storyboard, so the AI does the heavy lifting while you stay the director. Start from a one-line idea or from a script you already have.
How is it different from an AI video generator or an AI movie generator?
An AI video generator makes one clip from one prompt, and an AI movie generator directs one cinematic scene. Filmmaker makes the whole film: several scenes, the same characters in every shot, a storyboard you approve before anything is shot, takes you compare and pick, and a rough cut with music and captions. Use a generator for a single shot and Filmmaker when the shots have to add up to a story.

How many credits does an AI film cost?
Prices follow the current model rates. A 30-second film with two scenes, two characters and six 5-second shots, on the default settings:
- Two character portraits
- 72 credits
- Six storyboard frames
- 216 credits
- Six 5-second shots in 720p
- 1,110 credits
- One music track
- 72 credits
- Total
- 1,470 credits
Every button shows its price before anything is made, and a batch shows one total first. Failed shots are refunded, and joining the shots into one MP4 costs nothing.
Questions
Can AI make a whole movie?+
Yes. Filmmaker takes one idea or your own script through six stages (plan, script, cast, storyboard, shoot and cut) and gives you one MP4 with several scenes and the same characters throughout. The AI drafts each stage and you can change anything before a shot is made. Shots are made on PopNow's servers, so you can close the tab and come back to finished shots.
How long can an AI film be?+
Anything from a 30-second short to about 15 minutes. Longer films are written in parts, with up to 120 shots and 12 characters in one project, and each shot runs 2 to 15 seconds.
How do characters stay the same across scenes?+
Every character gets a reference sheet before shooting starts, such as a turnaround of front, side and back views plus a close-up, and every shot is made with those references, so faces and outfits match from scene to scene. Places and props get reference pictures too. You can also upload a photo; if it shows a real person, you confirm it's you or that you have their permission.
Can I start from my own script?+
Yes. Paste it or upload a .txt, .md or .fountain file. The AI writer splits it into scenes and shots and keeps every line of dialogue word for word, or you can split it by paragraph at no charge and arrange the shots yourself.
How much does a short film cost?+
A 30-second film with two scenes, two characters and six 5-second shots comes to about 1,470 credits on the default settings. Planning, editing the script and putting the cut together cost nothing; pictures, shots, voices and music use credits. Every button shows its price first, and failed shots are refunded.
Can I edit one scene without redoing the rest?+
Yes. Rewrite a scene or a shot, change its framing or give a character a new look, and Filmmaker lists the frames, shots and parts of the cut that are affected, with the price of redoing them. Only what you tick is made again. Earlier takes are kept, and anything you locked stays exactly as it is.
What models does it use?+
Shots are filmed with MiniMax H3 by default, and you can pick another video model before you shoot. Character portraits and storyboard frames are made with Seedream 5.0 Pro, spoken lines are voiced with Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS, and music comes from Suno v6 Mini. Each button names the model it uses and its price.
Can I add music, voice and captions?+
Yes. Give each character a voice and their lines are spoken in that voice in every shot (up to two speakers per shot). Pick a track from the music library, describe one to make it or upload your own, then turn on captions and export the film as one MP4, with every shot also available as its own clip.
