PopNow Text effects turns any word into styled lettering you can drop into a thumbnail, a story, a poster or a video. There are eight looks: 8-bit pixel text, pencil-and-highlighter hand-drawn text, flowing liquid outlines, cut-out ransom note letters, glowing neon, RGB-split glitch, puffy 3D balloon letters and die-cut stickers. Everything is drawn in your browser, so it is free, it works without an account and your text never leaves your device.
Questions
Is the text effects generator free?+
Yes. All eight effects and every export (PNG, GIF, MP4, WebM) are free and don’t need an account. The only thing that costs credits is the optional Restyle with AI step, and you see the price before you generate.
Can I download text with a transparent background?+
Yes. Leave the background on Transparent and download the PNG. GIFs keep transparency too. MP4 and WebM can’t be transparent, so videos use the effect’s own background color, a color you pick, or your photo.
Does it work with Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Cyrillic text?+
Yes. Cyrillic uses the same fonts as Latin text. Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters are drawn with your device’s own fonts, picked in that order for the language you type, and pixel text turns them into 16-dot bitmap characters.
Can I put the text on my own photo?+
Yes. Set the background to Photo, add an image, then drag the text where you want it and change its size. The photo stays on your device; the download is the finished picture.
Can I use the results commercially?+
Yes. The fonts are open-source (SIL Open Font License and Apache 2.0), which allows commercial use of images made with them. What you write is up to you, so avoid other people’s trademarks.
