What the Image Denoiser does
Noise is the fine speckle and colour grain you see in night photos, high-ISO shots, old scans and some AI images. The Image Denoiser removes it with a restoration model that cleans the pixels you already have instead of painting a new picture, so faces, text and composition stay exactly the same. It can also fix blur from a shaky hand or a missed focus, and enlarge the cleaned image to 4K. One image costs 120 credits.
Questions
Does the denoiser redraw my photo?+
No. It is a restoration model, not an image generator. It removes grain from the pixels you already have, so the people, text and composition do not change.
What is the difference between Remove noise and Fix blur?+
Remove noise takes out speckle and colour grain. Fix blur sharpens a photo that is soft from camera shake or missed focus. If a photo has both, remove the noise first, then run Fix blur on the result.
Which strength should I use?+
Standard for most photos and AI images, Strong for night and indoor shots, Extreme for very grainy scans. Higher levels remove more grain but can also soften fine skin texture.
Can it clean up grainy GPT Image or ChatGPT pictures?+
It removes the fine grain and speckles that some GPT Image results show. Odd textures or over-sharpened edges are not noise, so a denoiser cannot always fix them; the AI Realism Enhancer handles that plastic AI look better.
Which files can I upload?+
JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC up to 10 MB. WebP and HEIC are converted to JPEG in your browser, and images over 24 megapixels are scaled down before upload.
How much does it cost?+
120 credits per image, about $0.12. Adding the 4K upscale costs 12 credits more.
Should I upscale to 4K?+
Only when you need a bigger file. Upscaling smooths skin a little, so leave it off for close-up portraits and use it for scenery, products and documents.
What causes noise in photos?+
Noise is the grainy speckle a camera adds when there isn't enough light: it raises its sensitivity (ISO), and small phone sensors show it most in night and indoor shots. AI images can carry a similar grain. RAW files aren't supported, so export them to JPEG or PNG first.
