What this tool does
It does two jobs that usually need a photographer. Remove shadows clears the hard dark patches that a cap brim, tree leaves or a ceiling lamp leave on a face, an ID photo or a product, so everything looks evenly lit. Relight gives the same photo completely new light: warm golden hour, a clean studio, pink and blue neon, a rim of backlight and more. You choose where the light comes from, its color and how soft it is, and the people, faces, clothes and background stay the same.

How do I remove a shadow from a photo?+
Add the photo, keep Remove shadows selected and press the button. The model lifts hard shadows on faces, objects and the background in about half a minute; drag the slider to compare and lower Effect strength if you want a little shadow back.
Will it change my face or the colors?+
No. Every instruction we send tells the model to keep the person, face, expression, skin tone, glasses, clothes, pose and background the same and change only the light. Colored lights such as neon or golden hour tint the scene, which is the point; Effect strength lets you dial that back.
Can I remove a shadow from a passport photo?+
Yes. Remove shadows evens out the shadows under the eyes, nose and chin and the head shadow on the wall. It keeps your face and expression, but it does not crop or resize to an official format, so check the size rules of the office you send it to.
How do I make all my photos the same lighting?+
Use the same card and the same Fine-tune settings for each photo. The same direction, color, softness and strength send the same instruction, so a set of portraits or products comes back with matching light.
Can I choose where the light comes from?+
Yes. Open Fine-tune and tap or drag the light on the dial: eight directions around the photo, the center for front light, and Backlight for a rim of light from behind. The small preview on the dial shows roughly which side gets brighter.
What does Effect strength do?+
It mixes the result with your original right in your browser, from 0 to 100 percent. Lower it to keep part of a shadow for depth or to make a strong light more natural. It costs no credits, and downloads use the mix you set.
Can I make a white-background product photo?+
Yes. With Remove shadows selected, turn on Product on white. After the shadows are gone the object is cut out and placed on a 2000 × 2000 pure white square with a soft contact shadow, ready for a shop listing.
How many credits does it cost?+
Removing shadows or one light takes 5 credits, Nano Banana 2.1 takes 8, Try 4 lights takes 20, and the white product square adds 1. The button shows the total before you start and failed runs are refunded.
