Procedural ink landscape with layered mountain ridges, a winding pale river and foreground trees

Layered noise profiles form mountain ridges and guide contour and downward texture strokes. A smoothed river opening preserves negative space; constructed branching, pine and willow forms, hatched stones and a small pavilion add foreground detail without importing a landscape image. The entire default landscape is procedural and uses no generation service. A visual reference can guide palette decisions, but it is not required or pasted into the artwork. Canvas size and stroke density drive local work.

v1.0.0 · Updated Oct 25, 2026 · 1.6 MB · Use it for personal and client work; please don't resell or share the package.

What you get

  1. Panoramic landscape PNG and editable vector SVG

  2. Ridge geometry and repeatable settings

  3. Local preview and portable reconstruction brief

Good for

  • Procedural landscape prints and panoramic artwork
  • Changing terrain rhythm without generating a new background

Not for

  • Reproducing a real location or a named artist's painting
  • Photographic realism or an elevation survey

How it works

Includes a local renderer

  1. Choose the input

Choose the panorama dimensions, ridge count and restrained palette.

  2. Render and inspect

Build the mountains, strokes and foreground details locally.

  3. Adjust and export

Review the water opening and tree silhouettes before exporting vector paths.

How the workflow runs

How Procedural ink landscape works

Layered noise profiles form mountain ridges and guide contour and downward texture strokes. A smoothed river opening preserves negative space; constructed branching, pine and willow forms, hatched stones and a small pavilion add foreground detail without importing a landscape image.

What's inside the skill

What you can change

  • ridge_count: 3–9 overlapping ridges
  • roughness: 0.35–1.8 for the mountain profiles
  • tree_count: 0–45
  • seed, three-color palette and output dimensions

What to review before delivery

  • The ledger contains exactly the requested number of ridge profiles.
  • Each ridge retains 650 explicit coordinate samples.
  • The saved brief reproduces the PNG and SVG; unsafe replacement is rejected.

Why use this skill

Start with this package

The package supplies terrain construction, stroke texture and scene composition as editable geometry. A plain landscape prompt would not provide the seeded ridge coordinates or a vector stroke inventory.

Compare the options

A prompt, your own skill, or this workflow?

Start with a prompt

Your agent can create from a plain request. The brief, visual rules, asset choices, output format and review process still need to be established for that project.

Write your own skill

You choose and maintain the reusable instructions, defaults, file structure and checks. This is useful when your process needs different rules or integrations.

A workflow created for PopNow

This workflow was built for PopNow. Its source files, included dependencies and applicable notices are part of the package; the scope described below belongs to this edition.

What will this cost?

The entire default landscape is procedural and uses no generation service. A visual reference can guide palette decisions, but it is not required or pasted into the artwork. Canvas size and stroke density drive local work.

The supplied route runs locally. A new-media request is a separate choice. Free skill. New media is quoted before it runs.

The skill package

Free to install under your account's download allowance. The package license covers your own and client work; redistribution is excluded.

Existing assets and local work

Reusing suitable assets, editing files and running local assembly do not call a PopNow generation model. Your computer and any required runtime still do the work.

Your agent and hosting

Any subscription, hosted computer, deployment or other provider fee belongs to that service. Installing this skill does not include those services.

How PopNow billing works

Connections using a PopNow API key, including API-key MCP connections, spend from the separate API balance in USD. A ChatGPT or Claude connection authorized through OAuth spends website credits. These balances are separate; the quote shown by your connection is the approval basis.

Download allowances and current account conditions apply. A free package does not mean unlimited free generation.

How to use it

You say

  • Use the PopNow skill "Procedural ink landscape" (procedural-ink-landscape) for this: Choose the panorama dimensions, ridge count and restrained palette. Use the packaged example as a starting point and return the actual artwork with its editable inputs.

Then try

  • Rebuild a visibly different version using ridge_count: 6 → 4; seed: 48 → 59.

  • Explain the result using its actual proof files and algorithm ledger.

What to have ready

  • A preferred ridge rhythm, palette and canvas shape
  • Python 3.10+, Pillow and NumPy

Questions

Is the landscape a generated background image?

No. The local program constructs ridge profiles, texture strokes, trees, water and small architectural details. Those elements remain vector paths in the SVG.

What does the seed change?

The seed changes mountain profiles, small stroke variations and tree placement. Roughness and ridge count directly change the landscape structure; a seed does not identify a real geographic place.

What costs depend on this workflow?

The entire default landscape is procedural and uses no generation service. A visual reference can guide palette decisions, but it is not required or pasted into the artwork. Canvas size and stroke density drive local work.

What is already packaged in Procedural ink landscape?

The domain algorithm and invariant checks. Runnable, editable example parameters. Control meanings, proof interpretation and limits.

Which parts of Procedural ink landscape can add a charge?

The entire default landscape is procedural and uses no generation service. A visual reference can guide palette decisions, but it is not required or pasted into the artwork. Canvas size and stroke density drive local work. Connections using a PopNow API key, including API-key MCP connections, spend from the separate API balance in USD. A ChatGPT or Claude connection authorized through OAuth spends website credits. These balances are separate; the quote shown by your connection is the approval basis.

How does Procedural ink landscape differ from writing a prompt or my own skill?

The package supplies terrain construction, stroke texture and scene composition as editable geometry. A plain landscape prompt would not provide the seeded ridge coordinates or a vector stroke inventory.
