What you get

  • Transparent sprite cells of one size, characters on a shared baseline
  • Sprite sheets with JSON frame rectangles, pivots and animation groups
  • Seamless ground tiles with a 3x3 preview
  • A contact sheet for review and a locked palette for pixel art
  • Optional short sound effects, trimmed and loudness-matched

Good for

  • Game jams and prototypes that need art fast
  • Small indie games that need a consistent look
  • Replacing grey-box placeholders with matching art

Not for

  • Frame-by-frame animation with many in-betweens
  • 3D models or complex auto-tiling sets

How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "2D Game Asset Pack Maker" (game-asset-pack) for this: Pixel art pack for my platformer: a small knight in mossy green armour with idle, walk, jump and attack, a chest, potion, key and lantern, heart and coin icons, and a mossy stone tile.

In a coding agent

/popnow-game-asset-pack Pixel art pack for my platformer: a small knight in mossy green armour with idle, walk, jump and attack, a chest, potion, key and lantern, heart and coin icons, and a mossy stone tile.

Then try

Redo only the jump pose, the shield is missing.

Add a coin pickup and a jump sound effect.

What to have ready

  • The style you want: pixel, hand-painted or low-poly
  • A short description of your hero
  • Lists of props, icons, tiles and sound effects
  • Optional: your own sketch or pose photos of yourself

Questions

How does it keep every sprite in the same style?

It makes one style reference first and you approve it. Every later image is generated from that reference with the same style sentence, poses come from PopNow's pose tool working on the same base sprite, and local scripts put everything on one grid and, for pixel art, one palette.

Does it give me real pixel art or blurry fake pixels?

Real pixels. A script measures the block size of the generated art, samples one colour per block, scales only by whole numbers with nearest-neighbour and cuts alpha to fully on or off, with a shared palette of 16 colours by default.

Which engines can load the sprite sheets?

The sheets are uniform grids with a JSON file in the common frame-hash layout (frame rectangles, pivots, animation groups), which most 2D engines and frameworks read directly or with a few lines of code.

Can I make assets that look like a famous game?

No. The skill makes original characters and items only and never names existing games or characters in prompts. Describe the feel you want, such as chunky outlines or a 16-colour palette, and it builds an original set.

Can it make an RPG sprite sheet with walk cycles?

Yes. Ask for an RPG sprite sheet generator run with four directions and the agent poses the same character in every frame, then packs the frames with JSON for your engine. Unlike a one-off sprite generator, the sprite character generator step keeps the outfit and colors fixed across every pose.
