Fine gold and pale cyan curves form a layered guilloche rosette on a dark blue background

A rolling-circle equation generates a hypotrochoid for the requested integer gear ratio. The renderer samples the complete least-common closure period, varies pen offset across layers and records each path's numerical closure error. All curves and exports are computed locally without media generation. Layer count, path density and output dimensions affect local work; no source image is required.

What you get

  1. Fine-line rosette PNG and editable vector SVG

  2. Per-layer paths with measured endpoint closure

  3. Portable settings and local artwork preview

Good for

  • Ornamental art prints and medallion studies
  • Exploring gear ratios and layered line rhythm

Not for

  • Security printing or anti-counterfeit certification
  • Over-and-under knot topology

How it works

Includes a local renderer

  1. Choose the input

Choose compatible integer gear sizes and a pen offset.

  2. Render and inspect

Render the complete closure period and inspect line density.

  3. Adjust and export

Adjust the layer count or gear ratio and export the vector curves.

How the workflow runs

How Guilloche rosette maker works

A rolling-circle equation generates a hypotrochoid for the requested integer gear ratio. The renderer samples the complete least-common closure period, varies pen offset across layers and records each path's numerical closure error.

What's inside the skill

What you can change

  • fixed_teeth: 30–150 and smaller rolling_teeth: 7–80
  • pen_offset: 0.12–1.2
  • layers: 2–8 and stroke_width: 0.25–1.5
  • background and two interpolated ink colors

What to review before delivery

  • Every layer closes within 0.000001 pixel in the example checks.
  • The path ledger contains exactly the requested layer count.
  • The saved brief reproduces the PNG and SVG; unsafe replacement is rejected.

Why use this skill

Start with this package

The package resolves the closure period and supplies separate editable paths with measured endpoints. It saves constructing the gear equations, sampling and vector layers from scratch.

A prompt, your own skill, or this workflow?

Start with a prompt

Your agent can create from a plain request. The brief, visual rules, asset choices, output format and review process still need to be established for that project.

Write your own skill

You choose and maintain the reusable instructions, defaults, file structure and checks. This is useful when your process needs different rules or integrations.

A workflow created for PopNow

This workflow was built for PopNow. Its source files, included dependencies and applicable notices are part of the package; the scope described below belongs to this edition.

What will this cost?

All curves and exports are computed locally without media generation. Layer count, path density and output dimensions affect local work; no source image is required.

The supplied route runs locally. A new-media request is a separate choice. Free skill. New media is quoted before it runs.

The skill package

Free to install under your account's download allowance. The package license covers your own and client work; redistribution is excluded.

Existing assets and local work

Reusing suitable assets, editing files and running local assembly do not call a PopNow generation model. Your computer and any required runtime still do the work.

Your agent and hosting

Any subscription, hosted computer, deployment or other provider fee belongs to that service. Installing this skill does not include those services.

How PopNow billing works

Connections using a PopNow API key, including API-key MCP connections, spend from the separate API balance in USD. A ChatGPT or Claude connection authorized through OAuth spends website credits. These balances are separate; the quote shown by your connection is the approval basis.

Download allowances and current account conditions apply. A free package does not mean unlimited free generation.

How to use it

You say

  • Use the PopNow skill "Guilloche rosette maker" (guilloche-rosette-maker) for this: Choose compatible integer gear sizes and a pen offset. Use the packaged example as a starting point and return the actual artwork with its editable inputs.

Then try

  • Rebuild a visibly different version using rolling_teeth: 35 → 29.

  • Explain the result using its actual proof files and algorithm ledger.

What to have ready

  • A gear ratio and desired line density
  • Python 3.10+, Pillow and NumPy

Questions

Are these actual closed curves?

The integer gear ratio determines a full closure period. Each layer is sampled over that period and its endpoint error is recorded; the example check requires an error below one millionth of a pixel.

Can I edit individual layers?

Yes. Each layer is a separate SVG polyline with its own color, phase and pen offset. Changing the rolling gear changes the actual path, while changing only the palette preserves the geometry.

What costs depend on this workflow?

All curves and exports are computed locally without media generation. Layer count, path density and output dimensions affect local work; no source image is required.

What is already packaged in Guilloche rosette maker?

The domain algorithm and invariant checks. Runnable, editable example parameters. Control meanings, proof interpretation and limits.

Which parts of Guilloche rosette maker can add a charge?

All curves and exports are computed locally without media generation. Layer count, path density and output dimensions affect local work; no source image is required. Connections using a PopNow API key, including API-key MCP connections, spend from the separate API balance in USD. A ChatGPT or Claude connection authorized through OAuth spends website credits. These balances are separate; the quote shown by your connection is the approval basis.

How does Guilloche rosette maker differ from writing a prompt or my own skill?

The package resolves the closure period and supplies separate editable paths with measured endpoints. It saves constructing the gear equations, sampling and vector layers from scratch.
