Interlace two photographs as alternating paper ribbons with visible over-and-under crossings. One photograph supplies vertical warp strips and the other supplies horizontal weft strips. Staggered entrances alternate direction, and a parity mask preserves both images at the crossings. PopNow can supply missing artwork, footage or sound after a quote; owned material and the local example work without a connection.

The skill is free. Optional AI images, video and sound are quoted for your approval before generation. API-key calls use your separate API balance in USD; generation through ChatGPT or Claude connected via OAuth/MCP uses your website credits.

What you get

  1. An 8-second 1280 × 720 H.264 MP4 made by the local algorithm

  2. One photograph supplies vertical warp strips and the other supplies horizontal weft strips. Staggered entrances alternate direction, and a parity mask preserves both images at the crossings.

  3. Editable JSON, a six-frame contact sheet and a receipt with actual checks

Good for

  • Editorial transitions, creative photo pairings and textile-inspired posts
  • Original creative work using owned or licensed material

Not for

  • A physically simulated loom or a seamless looping transition
  • Publishing without watching the rendered result

How to use it

You say

  • Use the PopNow skill "Woven Photo Transition" (woven-photo-transition) for this: Interlace two photographs as alternating paper ribbons with visible over-and-under crossings. Use the bundled project, render the example and inspect the full result before delivery.

Then try

  • Change strips from 12 to 18 for a finer weave.

  • Use my licensed music; keep source audio discarded.

What to have ready

  • Two owned photographs with complementary colors and strong subjects.
  • Python 3.10+, FFmpeg/ffprobe, Pillow and NumPy

Questions

Are both photos actually used in the weave?

Yes. Alternating crossings use pixels from each input, with narrow gaps and edge shading. The receipt counts over and under ownership.

Does it finish on the second photo?

It finishes as a woven composition of both photographs. It does not silently replace the final weave with an unmodified second image.

Does the local render spend generation funds?

No. It reads local media and renders locally. Missing media can be made through PopNow after an exact quote and approval; no paid call occurs in the renderer.
