What you get

  • A 1920x1080, 30 fps MP4 of 24 to 45 seconds
  • A HyperFrames project with one composition per movement
  • A storyboard with the drop timestamp, tempo and cut grid
  • A handoff note on surfaces, rights, outputs and the command
  • Optional PopNow instrumental built around a drop

Good for

  • Launching a CLI, npm package, MCP server or agent skill
  • Showing a tool works in many environments without naming them
  • Release videos for developer communities and social

Not for

  • Products that only run in one place
  • Launches without at least eight real outputs to show
  • Narrated explainers; there is no voiceover

How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "Developer Tool Launch Reel" (dev-tool-launch-reel) for this: Launch video for our CLI: prompt 'summarize my meeting notes', ten outputs from ./outputs, ending on 'npx lumen-notes init'.

In a coding agent

/popnow-dev-tool-launch-reel Launch video for our CLI: prompt 'summarize my meeting notes', ten outputs from ./outputs, ending on 'npx lumen-notes init'.

Then try

We have no music. Generate a 120 BPM track with a drop and tell me the cost first.

Make the last four cuts twice as fast.

What to have ready

  • The one prompt and the install command, tested
  • Eight to twelve real outputs your tool produced
  • A licensed track with a drop, or a PopNow API key
  • Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg

Questions

Why is the prompt identical in all four surfaces?

Repetition is the argument. Viewers recognise the second instance and predict the third, which turns four demos into one claim: it works wherever you already are. Any variation breaks that.

How are the cuts kept on the beat?

HyperFrames detects the track's beat grid, the drop is recorded to the frame, and every cut time is derived from the tempo and snapped to a frame, never placed by eye.

Will it show other companies' editors or chat apps?

No. The four surfaces are neutral originals that differ by shape (terminal, docked panel, inline field, floating composer), unless you own a surface or have written permission.

Can PopNow generate the outputs for the reel?

No. The reel is evidence, so it uses outputs your product really produced. PopNow is only used for the music and an optional background plate behind the opening and the command.
