Shirt mockup: an AI-generated trail runner wearing a heather grey tee printed with the Ridge Runners mountain sunrise badge

Your agent works like a t-shirt design generator that ends with a file a printer accepts. It shows three design directions first, redraws the one you pick, cuts it out with PopNow's background remover, upscales it with PopNow's upscaler and sizes it to the print area at 300 DPI. A local checker measures transparency, white halos, soft edges and ink count, and PopNow mockups show the design flat and worn by an AI-generated model.

The skill is free. AI images, video and sound are quoted for your approval before generation. API-key calls use your separate API balance in USD; generation through ChatGPT or Claude connected via OAuth/MCP uses your website credits.

What you get

  1. Three design directions on one review sheet before anything else is made

  2. A transparent print file at the platform size, for example 4500 x 5400 px at 300 DPI

  3. A check report: size, DPI, halos, soft edges, print area used and estimated ink colors

  4. Flat-lay and on-model shirt mockups in up to two shirt colors

  5. An ink list in hex and a hardened file for screen printing

Good for

  • Print-on-demand tee listings
  • Club, school, event and family reunion shirts
  • Small screen-print runs with a fixed ink budget
  • Merch for a podcast, band or shop you own

Not for

  • Copying characters, team marks, brand logos or celebrities
  • Embroidery stitch files or all-over sublimation patterns
  • Putting real people's faces on shirts

How to use it

You say

  • Use the PopNow skill "T-Shirt Design Generator" (tshirt-design-generator) for this: Our running club Ridge Runners needs a retro badge tee, screen printed in 3 inks on heather grey. Give me the printer file and mockups, quote first.

Then try

  • Make a navy shirt version and check the art still reads on it.

  • Add a small left-chest version at 4 x 4 inches.

What to have ready

  • The theme, the exact wording (if any) and a few style words
  • How it will be printed: print-on-demand / DTG or screen print with an ink limit
  • Shirt colors and the print area your platform uses

Questions

What makes this different from an AI t shirt design tool that just makes a picture?

A picture is not a print file. This skill ends with a transparent PNG at the print size and 300 DPI, measured for halos, soft edges and ink count, and it shows three directions before spending on the final art. The cut-out and upscale run on PopNow's own background remover and upscaler.

Is it a free tshirt mockup generator?

No. Mockups are made with PopNow and every run is priced before it starts, so you approve each one. The print-file prep and all checks run on your machine at no cost.

Can I use it as a shirt mockup generator for my own design?

Yes. Give it your design as a transparent PNG; it can check and size the print file for free and, after a quote, place the design on flat-lay and on-model shirts in your shirt colors.

Will it work for screen printing?

Set the print method to screen and an ink limit. Prompts ask for flat spot colors, the checker counts inks from flat areas and fails above the limit, and harden removes soft edges. You also get the ink colors as hex values for the printer's quote.

Can it put a famous character or brand on the shirt?

No. It makes original designs only and offers an original alternative when asked for protected characters, team marks or logos.
