What you get

  • A beat plan that says which lines get an effect and which effect, checked before anything is built
  • One editable 1920x1080 HyperFrames project per beat, built in a single run
  • A render script, a silent review reel and a timeline of every beat's start and end
  • Four matching palettes and 30 bundled illustrative images for image-led effects
  • Optional PopNow narration, music, foley, photo cut-outs, B-roll and footage upscaling

Good for

  • YouTube explainers and video essays
  • Online course lessons and tutorials
  • Channels that need every episode to share one graphic look
  • Turning a dense script into a few clear visual moments

Not for

  • Vertical 9:16 or square videos; the compositions are 16:9
  • Character animation or fully generated live-action films
  • Charts that must update from a live data source

How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "Explainer Motion Graphics Kit" (explainer-motion-graphics-kit) for this: Here's my 6-minute script on how compost works. Pick the 5 or 6 lines that need a visual, build them in the dark palette, and leave the rest on my talking head.

In a coding agent

/popnow-explainer-motion-graphics-kit Here's my 6-minute script on how compost works. Pick the 5 or 6 lines that need a visual, build them in the dark palette, and leave the rest on my talking head.

Then try

Swap beat 3 for a line chart instead of bars and rebuild just that one.

Add narration and sound effects to the review reel. Quote it first.

What to have ready

  • The script, outline or transcript, plus the real numbers for any chart
  • Presenter takes for split-screen and picture-in-picture beats, if you use them
  • Node.js 22+, FFmpeg and Chrome; a PopNow API key for the optional passes

Questions

How does it decide which effect goes on which line?

It splits the script into beats and asks what the viewer should see change on each one: a number growing, steps connecting, a word being corrected, a new chapter. That change maps to a category, and the effect is chosen by how it moves. Lines that need nothing stay on your presenter shot.

Do I need presenter footage?

No. 89 of the 122 effects are graphics only. Split-screen and picture-in-picture effects need one continuous take per beat, and the six effects that put text behind you make the cut-out from that take locally.

Can I edit the result in my video editor?

Yes. Each beat renders to its own MP4, so you can drop them onto your timeline at the right moments, or use the assembled reel for a fully animated video. The projects stay editable, so a changed word is a rebuild, not a redo.

What does PopNow add?

Optional sound and pictures: narration per beat, a quiet music bed, sound effects matched to the animation, cut-outs of your photos, B-roll clips and sharper footage. Every run shows its price first and only starts after you agree.

How is this different from motion graphics templates for Premiere or After Effects?

Those motion templates need you to open an editor and fill each one by hand. Here your agent reads your script, picks a template per line, fills in your numbers and renders, so you can create animated videos without touching a timeline.
