Questions

Does adding a session book a place?

No. It builds a local agenda and exports a calendar. Link a real ticketing or booking provider separately.

How are timezone differences handled?

Session data contains explicit offsets. The page formats those instants in the event timezone and writes UTC timestamps to the calendar file.
