What you get

  • A props-driven React hero component with a usage example
  • The same hero as a single HTML file with no build step
  • Light and dark theme tokens, a ruled-grid backdrop and motion rules
  • A drawn fallback visual so the hero looks finished without an image
  • Optional hero image from PopNow, quoted before it runs

Good for

  • SaaS, app and service landing pages
  • Replacing a flat, static first screen
  • Waitlist and launch pages that need one clear action

Not for

  • Building an entire multi-section website
  • Scroll-driven storytelling or heavy animation
  • Palettes built on saturated blue or violet without re-theming

How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "Animated Hero Section" (animated-hero-section) for this: Add a hero to my Next.js landing page: 'Plan trips that feel easy / relaxed / shared', with Start planning and See examples buttons.

In a coding agent

/popnow-animated-hero-section Add a hero to my Next.js landing page: 'Plan trips that feel easy / relaxed / shared', with Start planning and See examples buttons.

Then try

Generate a wide photo for the frame: a sunny table with maps and coffee. Tell me the credits first.

Give me the plain HTML version for my static site too.

What to have ready

  • A lead line and 3-5 short rotating words
  • Body copy, button labels and links
  • Optional: your screenshot or product photo, or a PopNow API key

Questions

Do I need React?

No. The skill picks the React component when your project uses React and Tailwind, and the plain HTML file when there is no build step. Other frameworks get a port of the same markup and motion.

Is the motion accessible?

The word slides with a short tween, pauses in hidden tabs and stops entirely when the visitor prefers reduced motion. Screen readers hear the full headline once instead of a changing word.

What if I have no hero image?

A drawn plate in the theme colours fills the frame, so the section still looks complete. You can add your own screenshot later or generate an image with PopNow.

Will PopNow make a screenshot of my app?

No. For software, the skill asks for a real screenshot. PopNow is used for scene photos, product shots on a matching backdrop or abstract plates.
