What you get

  • A 60 fps MP4 at 1080p, 2K or 4K in three lengths: about 16, 18 or 22 seconds
  • An editable HTML film with a live copy editor, scrubber and shot jumps
  • Fifteen lines and a material plan you approve before anything is collected
  • Labelled QA contact sheets and a report of every source and credit spent
  • Optional PopNow eye plate, music bed timed to the BUT hit, and sound effects

Good for

  • Launch-day and waitlist teasers for social feeds
  • Manifesto clips that make one sharp point about a category
  • Fast openers before a longer product demo

Not for

  • Step-by-step explainers or anything that needs a voiceover
  • Messages that need more than fifteen short lines
  • Calm or premium brands that glitch aesthetics would undercut

How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "ASCII Glitch Hype Film" (ascii-glitch-promo-video) for this: Make a 20-second glitch teaser for our budgeting app Tidewell. The point: every team tracks money in five apps and nobody knows what is left. Use our own pages from tidewell.example.

In a coding agent

/popnow-ascii-glitch-promo-video Make a 20-second glitch teaser for our budgeting app Tidewell. The point: every team tracks money in five apps and nobody knows what is left. Use our own pages from tidewell.example.

Then try

Quote a themed eye plate and a synthwave music bed before generating anything.

Cut a short version for social with the same lines and a different seed.

What to have ready

  • Your product site, logo and the point you want to make
  • Screenshots of your own pages and posts, if you have them
  • Node.js 20+, FFmpeg, Chrome and playwright-core
  • A PopNow API key only if you want generated plates, music or sound effects

Questions

Do I need screenshots and posts before I start?

No. The engine draws neutral prompt boxes, pages, account cards and post posters, so you can approve the lines and timing first and swap in your own material later without retiming.

Whose posts and accounts appear in the film?

Your product's own: you supply screenshots of your own posts, or the post texts and the engine draws neutral cards. The skill never collects other people's posts, never invents posts, numbers or check marks, and never puts competitors in the answer beats.

How does the music line up with the cuts?

The biggest hit always lands on the first frame of the BUT shot. The skill cuts one continuous excerpt of the track so its strongest onset sits there, then fades out on the white end card.

What does PopNow add, and what does it cost?

A themed eye plate whose reflection hints at your product, an instrumental bed, and sound effects: effects matched to the rendered film, or a few named signature sounds. Each job is quoted in credits first; a typical set of plate, music and matched effects is about 150 credits, and rendering is free on your machine.
