How to use it

In Claude or ChatGPT

Use the PopNow skill "Kids Picture Book Maker" (kids-picture-book) for this: A 12-page bedtime book for my 3-year-old about a little hedgehog who learns the night is friendly. I want to print it and have a read-aloud video.

In a coding agent

/popnow-kids-picture-book A 12-page bedtime book for my 3-year-old about a little hedgehog who learns the night is friendly. I want to print it and have a read-aloud video.

Then try

Make the hedgehog's scarf yellow on the sheet before you draw the pages.

Add a page where the hedgehog waves goodnight to the fireflies.

What to have ready

  • The idea, the child's age and the feeling or lesson
  • A name and a few details for the hero
  • Python 3, plus Chrome for the PDF and ffmpeg for the video
  • Your own drawings if you would rather not generate pictures

Questions

How does the main character stay the same on every page?

The skill makes a character sheet first (front, side and back views) and waits for your approval. Every page is then drawn as an edit from that sheet with the same description, and a hard action can go through PopNow's pose changer first. If a page drifts, only that page is redrawn.

Can my child be the hero?

Only if you are the parent or guardian and confirm it. The photo is used once to make a simple cartoon character sheet, never a realistic portrait, and the pages are drawn from the sheet. By default the hero is an original animal or cartoon child described in words.

What does a book cost?

A 12-page book is one character sheet, 12 pictures and 12 upscales; the video adds 12 short narration clips and one music track. A quick screen-only version is a sheet and 6 smaller pictures. You see the exact price from the quote before anything runs; layout and video assembly are free on your computer.

Is the story checked for safety?

Yes. The planning script stops on violence, weapons, poison, frightening threats and actions a child could copy unsafely, such as climbing on a roof or playing with matches, and flags softer moments like darkness or being lost so they are resolved kindly.

How do I create a children's book with my child as the hero?

Describe the hero in words or start from a drawing your child made; real photos of children are not needed. The agent fixes the look in a character sheet so every page matches, which is where a plain children's book generator or AI storybook generator usually drifts.
