Can you buy Higgsfield credits without a subscription?
No. The help center answers this question directly: an active subscription is required to purchase a Credit Pack. A Credit Pack is described as a one-time purchase of extra credits on top of your subscription, for when your monthly credits run out. It does not change your plan, does not unlock new models and does not renew.
Auto-Refill, which buys more credits automatically when your balance runs low, is set up from the Subscription section of Manage Account and follows the same 90-day validity. If you cancel later, credits you already bought are not lost: they stay usable on the free plan, on the models the free plan includes, until their 90 days run out.
So in practice, the free tier lets you explore, but buying credits starts with choosing a plan.
Do Higgsfield credits roll over or expire?
Subscription credits do not roll over. Monthly plans reset on each paid renewal and annual plans reset every 30 days, and Higgsfield's Terms say unused subscription credits expire at the end of each billing period. Credits from a Credit Pack or Auto-Refill are valid for 90 days from purchase. Promo credits expire on the date shown when they are added.
Higgsfield always spends subscription credits first, then whichever balance expires soonest. That order protects you from losing the monthly allowance, but it also means a Credit Pack bought early in a cycle may sit untouched while its 90-day clock keeps running. Is Higgsfield Unlimited really unlimited?
Unlimited on Higgsfield means some generations do not deduct credits, under several conditions the help center and Terms spell out:
- Only selected models. Unlimited applies to the models listed on your plan's card or in a bundle you bought, each for a stated period. Most get 365 days, while the newest flagship models may get a shorter window, such as 7 days. Every other model still deducts credits.
- Only on the website. Generations through MCP, the CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer and other automated tools always deduct credits, whatever your Unlimited status.
- Only while subscribed. If the subscription ends, Unlimited access stops working even if its period has not finished.
- A slower queue. Unlimited generations run in the standard queue, while credit-based generations run in the priority queue. Speed and concurrency may vary at peak times.
- Concurrency caps on bundles. Unlimited bought from the model marketplace runs one video at a time, up to 15 seconds, or two images at a time.
- Personal use only. Automation, scripting, credential sharing and reselling are prohibited, and unusual activity can slow generations or pause access for review.
Higgsfield's Terms add that plans marketed as Unlimited are subject to fair-use limits and dynamic speed and concurrency limits. None of this is hidden, but it is worth reading before choosing a plan for Unlimited alone.
