CodeBuddy skills

Install PopNow skills in CodeBuddy. Download a skill, unzip it into the skills folder, and call it by name in your next chat.

  1. 1Copy the install prompt

Paste it into CodeBuddy. It downloads the skill with your API key and unzips it into the right folder.

  2. 2Ask for the result

Call the skill and say what you need in plain words: the topic, the audience, the length.

  3. 3Review and refine

Open the file it made, ask for changes in the chat, and ship when it looks right.

Prepare a CodeBuddy app introduction from approved assets

Choose the first impression deliberately

A CodeBuddy design task can connect an application's visual identity with its introduction. App and UI Icon Generator is a candidate when the project needs an application icon and a matching interface set. App Promo Sting offers a short motion-oriented catalog direction, while Mobile App Tutorial is worth inspecting when the priority is helping someone use the product. These deliverables have different jobs. An icon needs to remain recognizable in context, a promotional piece needs a concise message, and a tutorial needs an accurate sequence. Select one initial outcome and bring the assets that support it.

Install under CodeBuddy's own namespace

The personal folder listed here is ~/.codebuddy/skills and the repository folder is .codebuddy/skills. Preserve the downloaded popnow-prefixed directory with SKILL.md and its supporting files, then use the plain skill name in the request. Trae uses .trae/skills for project scope, so a visually similar workflow installed there should not be assumed to be available to CodeBuddy. Confirm which package was loaded before asking for revisions. Installing only a copied instruction file may leave referenced scripts or assets unavailable even when the initial request appears to be understood.

Review identity and instruction separately

For a first CodeBuddy assignment, supply the app name, approved colors, a concise description and the list of interface actions needing icons. Review the icon directions against the actual application rather than against a detached moodboard. If the task is a tutorial, provide authorized screenshots and a verified starting state instead. Keep the user-visible explanation consistent with the current application, and label future concepts clearly. When something fails, distinguish a missing package resource from an unclear brand decision. Optional generated artwork should be reviewed before it is carried into several outputs, so a mistaken visual direction does not propagate through the entire app introduction.

Frequently asked questions

What does an app icon brief need?

Include the application name, what it does, existing visual constraints and the actions represented by interface symbols. App and UI Icon Generator documents multiple application and web output contexts. Inspect those outputs and provide the actual intended use so the resulting assets can be reviewed in context.

How should I request a skill in CodeBuddy?

Use the plain popnow-prefixed name after installing the complete package in .codebuddy/skills or ~/.codebuddy/skills. Follow it with the task and source assets. Ask CodeBuddy to identify its loaded instructions if the answer resembles generic design advice rather than the selected workflow.

When should I choose a tutorial over a promotional sting?

Choose according to the viewer's need. Mobile App Tutorial is worth reviewing when someone must complete a task in the application. App Promo Sting is a candidate for a concise introduction. A promotional sequence does not replace the verified steps and visible success condition required for instruction.

Can one approved image guide every app deliverable?

It can provide a useful reference, but each artifact still needs review for its own purpose. Check icons at their intended size, verify tutorial screenshots against the current interface, and keep promotional claims accurate. Consistent colors alone do not guarantee a coherent or usable introduction.
