What is an image to SVG converter?
It traces the shapes in a bitmap (PNG or JPG) and rebuilds them as vector paths. The result is an SVG file you can scale to any size, from a favicon to a billboard, without blurry or jagged edges.
PopNow’s converter runs in your browser: your image never leaves your device, it’s free, and every change previews live. Compare the original and the vector at 800% to see the difference.
Questions
Is this PNG to SVG converter free?+
Yes. The in-browser converter is free and runs on your device, so there is no upload, no signup and no watermark.
Is my image uploaded?+
No. In browser mode the image is read and traced locally in a background worker. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Can I convert a photo to SVG?+
You can, with the Detailed mode, but photos become poster-style color shapes. Logos, icons, illustrations and line art give the cleanest results.
How do I get a transparent background?+
Transparent background is on by default for logos, illustrations and line art: the background color touching the edges is removed. You can switch it off under More options.
Can I change the colors after converting?+
Yes. Click any color in the palette under the preview to replace it everywhere in the file, then download.
Which formats can I download?+
SVG, a vector PDF, and PNG at 1×, 2× or 4× (transparent, or with the background color you previewed). You can also copy the SVG code.
Can I use the SVG with Cricut or a laser cutter?+
Yes. Pick Logo & icon or Line art so the file has a few clean, closed shapes that Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and laser software can cut. Detailed mode makes many small shapes, which suits printing better than cutting.
