Changelog
Dated changes to the PopNow AI image, video and audio generation API, the remote MCP server, webhooks, credits and these docs that affect developers.
Changes that affect code you have written against PopNow, newest first. Additions that need no action are listed too, so you can see what became possible. Dates are UTC.
Nothing below breaks an existing integration unless it says Action needed.
2026-10-17
Remote MCP server. PopNow now runs an MCP server at https://api.popnow.ai/mcp. People can add it to ChatGPT or Claude and create images, videos, songs and voiceovers in a chat; developers can add it to Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code or their own MCP client. Twelve tools, OAuth 2.1 sign-in or a sk-popnow- API key, the same credits and prices as everywhere else. Jobs up to 30 credits start at once; larger ones wait for the user's confirmation. See Use PopNow in ChatGPT and Claude.
- Connections can be reviewed and removed in Account settings → Devices → Connected AI apps.
- Calls made with an API key count against that key's spend caps and appear in the console logs.
- Video effects (Zombie Turn, Flying Car and the rest of the Effects page) are available to chat apps through
apply_effect. They are not REST endpoints.
New docs. Credits and refunds, integration guides for n8n, ComfyUI and the Blender add-on, Recipes, and this changelog. Webhooks gained a section on managing account endpoints in the console.
Credit pack refund rules. A credit pack can be refunded within 7 days of purchase (14 days for consumers in the EU and UK) if none of its credits have been used; failed generations continue to be refunded automatically. Free credits are spent before pack credits, and packs from oldest to newest. Details: Credits and refunds.
Integration pages on popnow.ai. The n8n, ComfyUI and Recipes pages now show real outputs next to the code they generate.

The PopNow API opened. One REST API for image, video and audio generation at https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1, documented here at popnow.ai/docs in 12 languages, with the OpenAPI file and llms.txt for tools and agents.
- Keys start with
sk-popnow-. Keys created before the prefix changed keep working; there is nothing to rotate. - Amounts are in credits (1 credit = $0.01):
credits, maxCredits, expectedCredits, availableCreditsand the other credit fields sit next to the US dollar strings. Use the credit fields. - Model IDs are
<maker>/<model>/<task>, for examplegoogle/nano-banana-2.1/text-to-image. PopNow's own tools usepopnowas the maker. popnow://references for uploads (popnow://f/…) and asset library items (popnow://a/…), usable in any media field. See Media.- Chat and text models are not part of the public API. The API covers image, video and audio generation.
Webhook payload version 2. New task callbacks are sent with X-Webhook-Payload-Version: 2, where the body matches recordInfo. See Webhooks.
Developer console. Account-level webhook endpoints (Standard Webhooks signatures, up to 16 per account, a secret per endpoint), a delivery log with manual resend, Playground runs on every model's API page, key filters in the logs, and a CSV export of usage.
Content check at submission. Prompts and input images are checked before a task is accepted. A declined request returns 400 with a data.reason, holds nothing and costs nothing. Requests a model itself declines still fail as content_rejected at no cost.
Error messages in Chinese. msg and errorMessage now follow Accept-Language for zh-CN and zh-TW as well, alongside the ten languages already supported. Codes are unchanged. See Errors.
OpenAI-compatible video routes under /v1 also accept the key in an x-api-key header. See OpenAI Videos.
Blender add-on 0.1.0. Render, animate and texture from a clay scene in Blender 4.2 or newer with your API key. See Blender add-on.

Asset library: characters. Characters (a named set of reference images arranged on the website) are stored in the asset library and can be read with GET /api/v1/assets/entities; each image has its own popnow://a/… URI for generation requests. Characters are created and edited on the website; the API reads them. See Assets.
