What is Seamless Pattern Maker?
Seamless Pattern Maker turns a photo of a printed product back into the flat design file. Snap a T-shirt graphic, a patterned mug, a phone case or a piece of fabric, and AI removes the perspective, folds, curves, shadows and glare, then redraws the print front-on with the same shapes, colors and spacing.
It works for two kinds of prints. One graphic, like a chest print or an illustration, comes back centered on a transparent background. A repeating pattern, like a floral fabric or a wallpaper, comes back as a full square swatch that you can tile without visible seams.
Questions
How do I extract a design from a picture of a shirt?+
Upload a clear photo of the shirt, choose One graphic, pick T-shirt under Printed on and press Extract design. You get the graphic flattened onto a transparent background as a PNG, usually in under a minute, for about 22 credits.
Can it make a seamless pattern from a photo?+
Yes. Choose Repeating pattern and it rebuilds the print as a square swatch. In the Repeat view, Blend edges hides any seam, the score shows whether the edges match, and Mirror layout always repeats cleanly. Download the tile and use it in any design tool or print-on-demand shop.
Will the result be exactly like the original?+
It keeps the shapes, colors and layout very closely, but the design is redrawn, not copied pixel by pixel, so tiny details and small lettering can change. Compare it with the photo in the Design view and use the note to fix anything specific.
Is it big enough to print?+
Standard results are about 2048 px, which covers smaller items such as mugs and phone cases at 300 dpi. The Print & SVG view checks your file against common product sizes; for shirts, totes and posters upscale it to 4K for 12 credits, and the transparent background is kept.
Can I get an SVG or vector file?+
Yes, and it uses no credits. The Print & SVG view traces the design into vector shapes in your browser with the open-source VTracer engine. Simple gives fewer, smoother shapes; Detailed keeps more of the original shading.
Can I extract a design from a product I bought?+
Only if you have the rights to use it. The tool is meant for your own designs, artwork you commissioned or licensed, and patterns that are free to use. Extracting someone else’s artwork or brand to sell can infringe their copyright or trademark.
How much does it cost?+
About 22 credits per extraction on GPT Image 2.5 Flare, plus 12 credits if you upscale to 4K, so about 34 credits for a print-ready file. Repeats, mockups and SVG use no credits because they run in your browser.
