Introduction
Qwen Image 3.0 Pro Image to Image edits one to three reference images under an instruction. With one reference it is a surgical change — a cover line, a garment, a light. With two or three it merges, provided the prompt says which source contributes what.
Qwen Image 3.0 Pro is the high-detail tier of Alibaba's Qwen image line: 5,000-character prompts, eight aspect ratios, a 1K or 2K tier, and one-to-three-reference editing.
Choose a Qwen Image 3.0 Pro mode by starting material
| Starting material | Mode |
|---|---|
| A written art direction or design brief | Qwen Image 3.0 Pro Text to Image |
| An approved source image to revise | Qwen Image 3.0 Pro Image Editing |
Key features
Text-aware image composition
Qwen Image 3.0 Pro is useful for visual concepts in which supplied wording, composition and image treatment must be considered together. Treat generated lettering as a design draft and proofread it before publication.
New composition and source-led revision are separate jobs
Use text-to-image to establish a visual from a written brief. Use image editing when an existing image supplies the identity, layout or material that must be retained while a defined change is made.
Review hierarchy before decorative detail
For posters, packaging and campaign concepts, decide the message hierarchy and focal area first. A visually appealing result still fails the assignment if the approved copy or product facts are not represented correctly.
Request parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
aspect_ratio | No | The shape of the frame: wide, square or tall. 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 · 2:3 · 21:9 · Default: 1:1 |
enable_prompt_expansion | No | Lets the model add detail to a short prompt. Default: true |
image_urls | Yes | Photos to edit or combine. Say in the prompt what each one adds. |
negative_prompt | No | Things you don't want to see. |
num_outputs | No | How many results to make in one go. ≥ 1 · ≤ 1 · Default: 1 |
prompt | Yes | Describe the subject, composition, lighting, and any text to render. |
resolution | No | Output size. Bigger sizes look sharper and cost more. 1k · 2k · Default: 2k |
seed | No | Reuse the same number to get a repeatable result. ≥ 0 · ≤ 2147483647 |
Pricing
Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.
| Option | Credits per image | ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|
| resolution 1K | 6 | $0.06 |
| resolution 2K | 11.25 | $0.11 |
For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.
Use cases
Refine a supplied visual
Use this mode when one to three approved frames should carry into the result. List them in image_urls in the order your prompt refers to them and give each a role — the face from the first, the garment from the second — because roles are never inferred.
Poster and out-of-home comps
Quote the old and the new string, keep aspect_ratio at the frame's shape, and describe everything else as unchanged.
Packaging and label mockups
Send a product render and relabel it: quote the brand name and the short claim, say which surface they sit on, and use negative_prompt against leftover lettering from the old label.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Set the cover shape and stay at 2k
Pick 3:4 or 2:3 for covers and posters; the frame is composed for that shape rather than cropped into it. Leave resolution at 2k for anything with type — this tier's advantage disappears at 1k.
Quote every string and say where it sits
For a text edit, quote the old string and the new one and name the position, then say which elements must stay untouched, such as the masthead. Anything the instruction does not mention is open to being redrawn.
Adapt the included example
Start with the published example using aspect_ratio: 3:4, resolution: 2k. Replace the subject and creative direction while keeping the input contract for this mode intact.
Keep the portrait, wardrobe, lighting and grade exactly as they are. Change the cover line from 'THE LATE SHIFT' to 'AFTER HOURS' in the same small caps and the same position, and leave the masthead untouched.
Supply your own cover frame — the image_urls value is a placeholder, not a hosted sample.
Check the result before iterating
Merging works when the prompt assigns a role to each reference; with three sources and no roles named the result is a blend nobody asked for. Retyping in place needs both the old and the new string quoted. Faces drift when you restyle and retype in the same call, so split those into two passes.
API quick start
Call the Qwen Image 3.0 Pro API in three steps
- Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
- Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model alibaba/qwen-image-3.0-pro/edit and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
- Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "alibaba/qwen-image-3.0-pro/edit",
"input": {
"prompt": "A ceramic teapot on a linen cloth, soft window light, muted palette",
"image_urls": [
"https://media.popnow.ai/influencer/examples/marco.webp"
],
"aspect_ratio": "1:1",
"resolution": "2k",
"num_outputs": 1
}
}'
# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.
Qwen Image 3.0 Pro API questions
How much does the Qwen Image 3.0 Pro API cost?
Qwen Image 3.0 Pro starts at 6 credits ($0.06) per image with Edit Image, its cheapest task. Prices by option: 1K 6 credits per image, 2K 11.25 credits per image. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.
What is the model name for Qwen Image 3.0 Pro in the API?
Put alibaba/qwen-image-3.0-pro/text-to-image for Create Image; alibaba/qwen-image-3.0-pro/edit for Edit Image in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.
How is Qwen Image 3.0 Pro different from Qwen Image 3.0?
Same request shape, same fields, higher detail ceiling — most visibly on multi-element typography and fine material. Explore on 3.0, deliver on Pro; the prompt does not need rewriting between them.
How many text elements can one cover hold?
Three or four short strings is the reliable range: a masthead, an issue line and a cover line or two. Quote each one separately and say where it sits. Full paragraphs of body copy still break down.
Which aspect ratio should a cover use?
3:4 or 2:3. Both are composed for that shape from the start, which is not the same as cropping a square — the subject and the type are laid out for the frame you asked for.
Can I edit an existing cover instead of regenerating it?
Yes, on the image-to-image endpoint. Pass the frame in image_urls, quote the old wording and the new wording, and name everything that must stay identical — pose, framing, grade.
Can I get several variants of one layout?
Not in a single call: num_outputs is fixed at 1. Send the same brief as parallel requests without a seed. Each returns one image and is quoted on its own, and because only the draw differs, the readings stay directly comparable.
What are the limits of the Qwen Image 3.0 Pro API?
Resolutions: 1K · 2K; Aspect ratios: 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 +2; Reference images: 3; Prompt length (characters): 5,000; Largest upload: 10 MB. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.
Can I try Qwen Image 3.0 Pro without writing code?
Yes. The Playground runs Qwen Image 3.0 Pro on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.
