Introduction
Krea 2 Medium Turbo is the quick tier of the Krea 2 line: it does not reach for Large's finishing-grade material detail, and trades that ceiling for turnaround.
Krea 2 Medium Turbo is the fastest tier of the Krea 2 line: a single text-to-image endpoint, 5,000-character prompts, eight aspect ratios including 2.35:1 anamorphic, and up to ten reference images to steer style.
Key features
Fast visual direction exploration
Krea 2 Medium Turbo is the option for comparing visual directions quickly before a concept receives a finishing pass. Keep the creative question narrow enough that each result tells the team what to keep or change.
Reference-guided look development
When a reference visual is available, use it to anchor palette, material or mood while describing the new composition in words. Review whether the requested look carries through without treating the source as a guaranteed layout copy.
A photographic line for early selection
Use the output to select a photographic direction, then preserve the accepted brief and review notes for the next stage rather than relying on a visual memory of what worked.
Request parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
aspect_ratio | No | The shape of the frame: wide, square or tall. 1:1 · 4:3 · 3:2 · 16:9 · 2.35:1 · 4:5 · 2:3 · 9:16 · Default: 1:1 |
prompt | Yes | Describe the image to generate: subject, composition, style, and lighting. |
reference_image_urls | No | Pictures of the people, outfits or places the result should keep. |
reference_strength | No | How strongly the reference images shape the result, from 0 to 1. At 1 the composition can carry over too; lower values mostly keep the palette and texture. ≥ 0 · ≤ 1 · Default: 1 |
Pricing
Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.
| Option | Credits per image | ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 2.25 | $0.023 |
Each task is rounded up to whole credits, so one run at the lowest tier costs 3 credits per image ($0.03).
For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.
Use cases
Start from a written brief
Use this endpoint while a direction is still moving: one image per call, eight aspect ratios, and up to ten reference images to hold palette, grain and light steady across a batch. Keep the brief short enough that each run changes a single clause.
Internal preview and pitch drafts
Enough quality to carry a concept in a deck without spending a finishing tier's time on a frame that will be replaced. Move the wording that survives review to Krea 2 Large unchanged.
Look exploration at speed
Fifty variations of one idea while the direction is still moving. A reference image or two holds palette, grain and light steady across the set, so the batch reads as one shoot rather than as fifty separate attempts.
Social and feed assets
Pick the placement ratio first — 4:5 or 9:16 for feeds, 1:1 for grids — because the frame is composed for that shape rather than cropped from another. Judge each result at the size it will be seen, and carry the wording that works to Krea 2 Large when an asset needs a finishing pass.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Write the light, not the adjectives
Name the light source, its direction and its colour, plus the lens and the film stock, instead of stacking quality words. When a reference image already carries the palette and grain, spend the prompt on staging and light.
Keep the prompt with the keeper
With no seed, a good frame cannot be regenerated. Save the prompt beside the asset, and when a wording survives review, carry it to Krea 2 Large unchanged for the finishing pass.
Adapt the included example
Start with the published example using aspect_ratio: 1:1. Replace the subject and creative direction while keeping the input contract for this mode intact.
The prompt behind the reference frame for this endpoint — it runs unchanged here, though the image shown was produced on the Turbo tier of the same line as a style reference.
Check the result before iterating
Four fields, no more: prompt, aspect_ratio, up to ten reference images and reference_strength. There is no seed, so nothing can be pinned and a frame worth keeping has to be stored with its prompt. At the default reference_strength of 1 the reference images carry their composition along with palette, grain, material and light; at 0.2 the layout mostly follows the prompt while the style still shows clearly. There is no creativity control either. One image comes back per request; if you need the highest detail ceiling, use Krea 2 Large.
API quick start
Call the Krea 2 Medium Turbo API in three steps
- Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
- Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model krea/2-medium-turbo/text-to-image and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
- Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "krea/2-medium-turbo/text-to-image",
"input": {
"prompt": "A ceramic teapot on a linen cloth, soft window light, muted palette",
"aspect_ratio": "1:1"
}
}'
# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.
Krea 2 Medium Turbo API questions
How much does the Krea 2 Medium Turbo API cost?
Krea 2 Medium Turbo costs 3 credits ($0.03) per image. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.
What is the model name for Krea 2 Medium Turbo in the API?
Put krea/2-medium-turbo/text-to-image for Create Image in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.
How does Medium Turbo differ from Krea 2 Large?
Large has a higher ceiling on detail and material and is the slower of the two; Medium Turbo is built for volume. Both take the same 5,000-character prompt, the same eight aspect ratios and up to ten style references, so a request ports between them unchanged.
Can I pass a reference image or tune creativity?
Reference images yes, creativity no. `reference_image_urls` takes up to ten images; at the default `reference_strength` of 1 they carry their composition along with palette, grain, material and light, and lowering it keeps mainly the colour and texture. There is no creativity control on this endpoint.
What are the limits of the Krea 2 Medium Turbo API?
Aspect ratios: 1:1 · 4:3 · 3:2 · 16:9 · 2.35:1 · 4:5 +2; Reference images: 10; Prompt length (characters): 5,000. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.
Can I try Krea 2 Medium Turbo without writing code?
Yes. The Playground runs Krea 2 Medium Turbo on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.

Krea 2 Large takes the same prompts and references with a higher ceiling on detail. Medium Turbo is the quick, cheap tier.
