Introduction
Kling 3.0 Motion Control takes one clear photo of a character (image_url) and a driving clip (video_url, 3 to 30 seconds) and re-plays the driving clip's moves, expressions and hand gestures on that character, keeping their face, outfit and setting from the photo. prompt is optional - use it for anything the driving clip does not show, such as the setting or the look.

|---|---|

Key features
One photo, one driving clip, the same performance twice
Record or license one driving clip - a dance, a walk, a gesture - and run it through as many character photos as you need. In our test the same driving clip's routine came back matched beat for beat on two different characters, each keeping their own face, clothing and background.
720p or 1080p
Motion Control does not go up to 4K.

Use cases
Reuse one performance across characters
Choreograph or license a single driving clip once, then apply it to every character photo in a series - a dance routine, a product presenter's gesture set, a recurring greeting - without reshooting the motion each time.
Give a still character photo real, directed motion
Instead of describing motion in words and hoping for a specific gesture, Motion Control lets you show the exact motion once, as a driving clip, and apply it precisely.
Localize a performance to a new setting
Use the optional prompt to place the character in a different location than the driving clip's own background, while the motion itself stays identical.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Let the driving clip carry the motion
The prompt does not need to describe any movement - the driving clip already supplies it. Use it only for what the clip does not show, such as the room, the wardrobe detail, or the mood.
Keep the character photo clear and single-subject
A clear, full or half-body photo of one person, well lit and unobstructed, gives Motion Control the clearest match. A photo with the character partly hidden or at an unusual angle leaves more for the model to guess.
API quick start
Call the Kling 3.0 API in three steps
- Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
- Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model kling/3.0/character-animation and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
- Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "kling/3.0/character-animation",
"input": {
"prompt": "A slow aerial shot drifting over a misty pine forest at sunrise",
"image_url": "https://media.popnow.ai/influencer/examples/marco.webp",
"video_url": "https://media.popnow.ai/effects/flower-bloom-1abd6efb.mp4",
"resolution": "720p",
"character_orientation": "video",
"shot_type": "customize"
}
}'
# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.
Kling 3.0 API questions
How much does the Kling 3.0 API cost?
Kling 3.0 starts at 15.12 credits ($0.15) per second with Motion Control, its cheapest task. Prices by option: 720p 15.12 credits per second, 1080p 20.16 credits per second. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.
What is the model name for Kling 3.0 in the API?
Put kling/3.0/text-to-video for Create Video; kling/3.0/image-to-video for Image to Video; kling/3.0/character-animation for Motion Control in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.
Does shot_type single guarantee one continuous shot?
Not on its own. In our tests Kling 3.0 sometimes cut to a second angle even with single selected. Add a line like "one continuous shot, no cuts" to the prompt if the take must not cut - that fixed it in our retest of the same scene.
How long does a clip take to generate?
Kling is not instant - plan for a few minutes per clip rather than seconds, longer for Motion Control and higher resolutions. The playground shows progress while the job runs.
What are the limits of the Kling 3.0 API?
Resolutions: 720p · 1080p; Prompt length (characters): 2,500; Largest upload: 10 MB; Longest input clip: 30 s. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.
Can I try Kling 3.0 without writing code?
Yes. The Playground runs Kling 3.0 on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.
