Recast: edit templates you star in

Recast turns a finished edit into a template. You add your photo; it remakes every shot with you in it and lays the same cuts, music and on-screen text back on top.

What makes it look like the original

The text, stickers, frames and transitions are drawn by code on top of your shots, not painted by an AI model, so the big titles are always crisp and the cuts always land on the beat of the track.

Three kinds of presets

Personalized edits put you into new scenes and outfits. Style transfer redraws you as anime, clay, comic art, film noir or an old painting. Motion transfer copies a dance or a camera move from a reference clip.

Your own clip

Upload a 3–30 second video you made or have the rights to. Recast finds the cuts in your browser, swaps you into each shot and keeps every cut where it was. You can save it as one of your presets.

Price

On Fast a photo shot costs about 5 credits, a moving shot about 28 and a copied dance about 8 credits per second plus 5. The total is on the button before you start, and failed shots are refunded.

Questions

Do I need a Claude account or an app?

No. Recast runs on this page: pick a preset, add your photo and press Recreate.

Which preset is cheapest?

Comic Strip and Photo Booth are 20 credits on Fast; Which One? and Photo Dump are 30, which is exactly what a new account gets for free.

Can I use more than one photo?

Yes, up to five: you, a friend, outfits or a product. Mark what each photo is and point at it with @ in the instructions.

What if one shot looks wrong?

Open the version, press “Redo this shot” on that shot only. You pay for that shot again; everything else stays.

Can I change the text or music afterwards?

Yes. Every finished edit is saved to your library, and “Send to → Video editor” opens it in the editor.

Is my photo shared?

No. Your photos and edits are private to your account. Saved presets are private too; community sharing will only open after a safety review.
