Introduction

Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA Editing applies your own LoRA weights while revising one to ten reference images. It is the same custom-weights setup as the text-to-image endpoint, pointed at work you already have rather than at a blank frame.

Key features

Bring a character LoRA to work already in progress

A LoRA you can only start new work with is far less useful than one you can apply to an approved frame. This endpoint takes both: up to ten references and up to three weight files in the same request.

Weights and references solve different halves of consistency

References hold composition, setting and the specific frame; the LoRA holds identity across every frame. Using both is steadier than leaning hard on either.

Request parameters

ParameterRequiredDescription
aspect_ratioNoThe shape of the frame: wide, square or tall. 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 · 2:3 · 21:9 · 9:21 · 2:1 · 1:2 · 3:1 · 1:3 · 5:4 · 4:5 · Default: 1:1
image_urlsYesPhotos to edit or combine. Say in the prompt what each one adds.
lorasNoLoad your own LoRA files to lock in a style or character. Default: []
output_formatNoFile type of the result. jpeg · png · webp · Default: jpeg
promptYesDescribe the subject, composition, lighting, and any wording to render.
resolutionNoOutput size. Bigger sizes look sharper and cost more. 1k · 1.5k · 2k · Default: 1k
seedNoReuse the same number to get a repeatable result. ≥ 0 · ≤ 2147483647

Pricing

Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.

OptionCredits per image≈ USD
resolution 1K6.3$0.063
resolution 1.5K11.7$0.12
resolution 2K22.5$0.23

Each task is rounded up to whole credits, so one run at the lowest tier costs 7 credits per image ($0.07).

For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.

Use cases

Applying a character LoRA to shots you already approved

The expensive part of a shoot is rarely the generation — it is arriving at a frame everyone signed off on. This endpoint lets you keep that frame and change who is in it: send the approved composition as a reference, load the character LoRA, and let the weights carry the identity while lighting, staging and crop stay exactly where they were.

Bringing a back catalogue into the current house style

Point a style LoRA at work generated months ago.

Scene work built from a reference you control

Start from a figure you already generated and add the second subject, the wardrobe or the setting.

Wardrobe and location swaps with the person held fixed

Two references — one carrying the person, one carrying the garment or the room — plus a character LoRA, and a prompt that says which source is which. Change the room, keep the face; change the outfit, keep both.

Prompt guide & pro tips

Name what every reference contributes before you name the change

The model does not infer roles from order or from filename. Write it out: "the first image is the woman, the second is the room she is standing in, the third is the coat." Without that sentence a multi-reference request blends the sources instead of editing with them, and the result looks like an averaging artefact rather than a mistake you can debug.

Do not let the prompt and the LoRA describe the same thing

When a character LoRA is loaded, describe the scene, the action and the light — not the face. Restating features the weights already encode pulls the render in two directions and usually produces something that resembles neither. Let the LoRA own identity and let the prompt own everything around it.

Verify a new LoRA changes something before trusting a batch

Weights built for a different base architecture can load with no error and have almost no visible effect. Run one deliberately obvious prompt against new weights, confirm the output moved, then queue the batch.

API quick start

Call the Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA API in three steps

  1. Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
  2. Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model alibaba/qwen-image-2.1-lora/edit and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
  3. Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
  -d '{
  "model": "alibaba/qwen-image-2.1-lora/edit",
  "input": {
    "prompt": "A ceramic teapot on a linen cloth, soft window light, muted palette",
    "image_urls": [
      "https://media.popnow.ai/influencer/examples/marco.webp"
    ],
    "aspect_ratio": "1:1",
    "resolution": "1k",
    "output_format": "jpeg"
  }
}'

# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"

Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.

Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA API questions

How much does the Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA API cost?

Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA starts at 7 credits ($0.07) per image with Edit Image, its cheapest task. Prices by option: 1K 6.3 credits per image, 1.5K 11.7 credits per image, 2K 22.5 credits per image. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.

What is the model name for Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA in the API?

Put alibaba/qwen-image-2.1-lora/text-to-image for Create Image; alibaba/qwen-image-2.1-lora/edit for Edit Image in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.

How do I supply a LoRA?

As an entry in the loras array: a path, which is a direct HTTPS URL to a .safetensors file or a Hugging Face repository, and a scale from 0 to 4. Nothing is uploaded to us; the file is fetched when the request runs.

How many LoRAs can I stack?

Three per request, each with its own strength. A fourth entry is rejected before generation starts.

What does scale actually do?

It weights how strongly the LoRA overrides the base model. 1 is neutral, below 1 softens its influence, above 1 lets it dominate. When stacking, move one value at a time or you will not know which weight caused a change.

Can I combine a LoRA with a marked-region edit?

Yes. Mark the region on the reference image and describe the change inside it as usual. Keep in mind the LoRA is not scoped to that region — at a high scale a style LoRA will influence the whole frame, so drop it toward 0.4-0.6 when you want the edit to stay local.

Why did my LoRA seem to do nothing?

Most often the weights were trained for a different base architecture. They can load without an error and still barely affect the image. Run one obvious test prompt against a known-good LoRA before committing a batch.

What are the limits of the Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA API?

Resolutions: 1K · 1.5K · 2K; Aspect ratios: 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 +9; Reference images: 10; Prompt length (characters): 5,000; Largest upload: 10 MB. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.

Can I try Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA without writing code?

Yes. The Playground runs Qwen Image 2.1 LoRA on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.
