Introduction

MiniMax H3 LoRA Image to video starts a clip from your opening frame and animates it for 3 to 15 seconds with a stereo soundtrack, with up to three of your own LoRA files loaded on the open-weights MiniMax H3. Add a closing frame to steer where the shot ends. Output is 480p, 540p, 768p or 1080p and keeps the shape of your picture.

Key features

The first frame is yours

With the prompt written as what happens next, the clip opens on your exact picture. In our control test a full-length portrait on a plain backdrop held frame for frame, then the subject raised her arms and turned around as asked, with no LoRA and again with a LoRA at 0.6.

LoRAs on top of a fixed start

Load a character, style or motion LoRA to change how the scene moves or looks while the opening frame pins the subject. Up to three files per request, each with its own strength from 0 to 4.

Pricing

Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.

OptionCredits per second≈ USD
resolution 480p7.5$0.075
resolution 540p11.25$0.11
resolution 768p15$0.15
resolution 1080p30$0.30

Each task is rounded up to whole credits, so one run at the lowest tier costs 38 credits for a 5-second clip ($0.38).

For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.

Use cases

Bring a finished still to life

Take an approved photo or render, keep it as the first frame and add movement, camera and sound. A realism LoRA at 0.8 keeps skin and fabric believable when the subject starts to move.

Planned start and end poses

Send both an opening and a closing frame for a reveal, a turn or a change of position, and let the model fill the motion in between. It is the most controlled way to get a specific ending.

Prompt guide & pro tips

Write what happens next, not a new scene

The prompt should continue the picture. In our testing, a prompt that moved the subject to a different room, combined with a concept LoRA at 1, replaced the opening frame entirely. The same frame held when the prompt described motion inside the existing shot.

Lower the scale before you blame the model

If the clip drifts from your frame, drop the strongest LoRA to 0.6 before rewriting anything. Style LoRAs are usually safe at 1; concept and anatomy LoRAs are the ones that take over.

Frame the picture for the clip you want

There is no aspect ratio field here: the clip keeps your frame's shape. Crop to 16:9 or 9:16 before you send it, and leave room in the frame for the movement you are asking for.

API quick start

Call the MiniMax H3 LoRA API in three steps

  1. Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
  2. Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model minimax/h3-lora/image-to-video and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
  3. Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
  -d '{
  "model": "minimax/h3-lora/image-to-video",
  "input": {
    "prompt": "A slow aerial shot drifting over a misty pine forest at sunrise",
    "image_url": "https://media.popnow.ai/influencer/examples/marco.webp",
    "resolution": "480p",
    "duration_seconds": 5
  }
}'

# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"

Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.

MiniMax H3 LoRA API questions

How much does the MiniMax H3 LoRA API cost?

MiniMax H3 LoRA starts at 38 credits ($0.38) for a 5-second clip with Image to Video, its cheapest task. Prices by option: 480p 7.5 credits per second, 540p 11.25 credits per second, 768p 15 credits per second, 1080p 30 credits per second. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.

What is the model name for MiniMax H3 LoRA in the API?

Put minimax/h3-lora/text-to-video for Create Video; minimax/h3-lora/image-to-video for Image to Video; minimax/h3-lora/reference-to-video for Reference to Video; minimax/h3-lora/video-extend for Extend Video in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.

Which LoRAs work?

LoRAs trained for MiniMax H3, the open-weights release. The files people share for H3 in ComfyUI work as they are. Weights made for other video models load silently and do almost nothing.

How do I supply a LoRA?

As an entry in the loras array: a path, which is a direct HTTPS link to a .safetensors file, and a scale from 0 to 4. The file is fetched when the request runs; nothing is uploaded to us.

Why did my image-to-video clip ignore the opening frame?

Almost always a strong concept LoRA at scale 1 together with a prompt that describes a different scene. In our tests the same picture held perfectly with no LoRA and with the LoRA at 0.6 once the prompt described what happens next in that frame.

Is the first request slower?

A little. The weights file is fetched before generation, so a new or large LoRA adds time to that call. Five-second 480p clips with an 86 MB LoRA took 25 to 50 seconds in our testing.

How is this different from MiniMax H3?

MiniMax H3 on this site runs MiniMax's hosted model at 480p, 768p and 2k with no custom weights. MiniMax H3 LoRA runs the open weights with your LoRAs, adds 540p and 1080p, 3-second clips, the 9:21 ratio and reference video and audio input, and tops out at 1080p.

What are the limits of the MiniMax H3 LoRA API?

Clip length: 3–15 s; Resolutions: 480p · 540p · 768p · 1080p; Prompt length (characters): 7,000. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.

Can I try MiniMax H3 LoRA without writing code?

Yes. The Playground runs MiniMax H3 LoRA on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.

All MiniMax models

MiniMax H3 Singularity LoRA uses the same LoRAs on a fine-tune that keeps fast action and distant faces sharper, but renders more slowly and has no text to video.
