About Kling 2.6
Kling 2.6 is Kling's first model built for native audio: text-to-video and image-to-video render fixed 1080p clips of 5 or 10 seconds with sound optional, and Motion Control 2.6 copies a driving clip's moves onto your own character at 720p or 1080p.
Call it with the model name kling/2.6/text-to-video on POST /jobs/createTask, from 52 credits for a 5-second clip ($0.52). New accounts get 30 free credits to try it in the Playground first.
Introduction
Kling 2.6 Text to video turns a written scene into a fixed 1080p clip of 5 or 10 seconds. There is no resolution field to set - output is always 1080p - and generate_audio is optional: leave it off for a silent render, or switch it on for dialogue, music and ambience generated with the picture.

| What you have at the start | Mode |

| a driving clip and a character photo | Kling 2.6 Motion Control |
Key features
Sound is optional, and it renders with the picture
Turn generate_audio on and dialogue you write in quotes, plus any ambient sound you name, comes back in the same file as the video. In our diner test, overlapping laughter, a jukebox playing doo-wop and clinking cutlery all landed in sync with the scene, though the group's hand gestures came out a little more subdued than the prompt asked for.
Fixed 1080p, no tier to pick
There is no resolution field on this endpoint - every clip renders at 1080p. Duration is fixed too, at 5 or 10 seconds; there is no field for anything in between.

Pricing
Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.
| Option | Credits per second | ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|
| false | 10.35 | $0.10 |
| true | 20.7 | $0.21 |
Each task is rounded up to whole credits, so one run at the lowest tier costs 52 credits for a 5-second clip ($0.52).
For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.
Use cases
Dialogue-driven group scenes
A handful of people talking and reacting in one room works well here, with the room tone and dialogue rendered in the same pass as the picture.
Clean takes to reuse as a Motion Control driving clip
A single performer, full body in frame, against a plain background and a locked-off camera produces a take you can feed straight into Motion Control (character-animation) as the driving clip for a different character.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Decide on sound before you write the scene
If you're leaving generate_audio off, describe the picture only. If you're turning it on, close the prompt with the dialogue in quotes and the ambient sounds you want - our tests show they render tied to the visible action rather than as a generic layer over the top.
For a driving clip, ask for the whole body and nothing else
A plain background, a static camera and an instruction to keep the full body in frame the whole time produces the cleanest source for Motion Control - the studio-dancer-take example here was built exactly this way, and we reused that same clip twice as a driving video for other Kling families.
Pick 5 or 10 seconds before you write the beat
Duration only takes one of two values, so settle on the length before drafting the scene. A single spoken line with a short reaction fits comfortably inside 5 seconds; a back-and-forth with more than one beat, or a line that needs a pause before it lands, wants the full 10 seconds instead of feeling rushed.
API quick start
Call the Kling 2.6 API in three steps
- Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
- Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model kling/2.6/text-to-video and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
- Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "kling/2.6/text-to-video",
"input": {
"prompt": "A slow aerial shot drifting over a misty pine forest at sunrise",
"aspect_ratio": "16:9",
"duration_seconds": 5
}
}'
# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.
Kling 2.6 API questions
How much does the Kling 2.6 API cost?
Kling 2.6 starts at 52 credits ($0.52) for a 5-second clip with Create Video, its cheapest task. Prices by option: false 10.35 credits per second, true 20.7 credits per second. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.
What is the model name for Kling 2.6 in the API?
Put kling/2.6/text-to-video for Create Video; kling/2.6/image-to-video for Image to Video; kling/2.6/character-animation for Motion Control in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.
What makes Kling 2.6 different from the other Kling models?
It was Kling's first model with native audio generation. Text-to-video and image-to-video always render at a fixed 1080p, in 5 or 10-second clips; Motion Control renders silent at 720p or 1080p, matching your driving clip's length.
Can I choose 720p on Kling 2.6?
Only on Motion Control (character-animation). Text-to-video and image-to-video have no resolution field and always render at 1080p.
How long can a Kling 2.6 clip be?
5 or 10 seconds on text-to-video and image-to-video. On Motion Control, the clip runs exactly as long as your driving video, which can be 3 to 30 seconds.
Am I charged if a request is rejected or fails?
No. If a request is rejected or the generation fails, the amount held for it goes back to your balance.
Which mode should I use - text, image, or Motion Control?
Use text-to-video for a scene with no reference. Use image-to-video when you already have the character, outfit or location locked in a still. Use Motion Control (character-animation) when you have a driving clip whose moves, expressions and gestures you want copied onto a different character.
What are the limits of the Kling 2.6 API?
Clip length: 5–10 s; Aspect ratios: 16:9 · 9:16 · 1:1; Prompt length (characters): 2,500. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.
Can I try Kling 2.6 without writing code?
Yes. The Playground runs Kling 2.6 on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.
