Introduction
Neta Lumina is Neta.art Lab's fine-tune of Alpha-VLLM's open Lumina-Image-2.0, trained on a large set of anime images and multilingual tag data, with Google's Gemma 2B as its text encoder. Prompt it with Danbooru-style tags, plain sentences or both, pick one of nine aspect ratios and get JPEG, PNG or WebP back.
Key features
Sentences, not just tags
Because the text encoder is a language model, the prompt can be a description: who is in the frame, what they wear, where the camera is and how the scene is lit. Tags still work and can be mixed into the same prompt.
Poses and angles with energy
Foreshortening, dynamic angles and motion lines are part of its vocabulary. A flying kick aimed at the viewer came out as a dramatic vertical frame in our tests.
Request parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
seed | No | Reuse the same number to get a repeatable result. ≥ 0 · ≤ 2147483647 |
prompt | Yes | Danbooru-style tags, natural language or both. |
aspect_ratio | No | The shape of the frame: wide, square or tall. 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 · 2:3 · 21:9 · 9:21 · Default: 1:1 |
output_format | No | File type of the result. jpeg · png · webp · Default: jpeg |
Pricing
Prices are in credits, the same credits you use on the website (1 credit = $0.01). The hold is taken when the task is accepted and settled to the actual charge when it finishes; failed tasks are refunded.
| Option | Credits per image | ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1.8 | $0.018 |
Each task is rounded up to whole credits, so one run at the lowest tier costs 2 credits per image ($0.02).
For an exact number before you run, send the same body to POST /jobs/quote.
Use cases
Character art and key visuals
Portraits, full-body art and posters from a list of tags or a short description. Fix the seed and change one detail at a time to explore outfits and lighting for the same character.
Action scenes
Fights, jumps and chase shots with a strong camera angle, in tall frames for phone screens or wide ones for banners.
Prompt guide & pro tips
Lead with quality and head count
Start with "masterpiece, best quality", then "1girl", "1boy" or both, then the character, outfit, pose, camera, light and atmosphere. Lowercase tags with spaces read best.
Write a real sentence for the hard parts
Camera position, lighting direction and what two characters are doing to each other are easier to say in a sentence than in tags.
Budget time, not money
Each image takes about 40 seconds of model time. Run variations in parallel and keep the seed fixed while you compare them.
Reroll the odd corner
The model occasionally adds a signature-like scribble or a pixelated patch learned from its training art. A new seed is the fix; there is no negative prompt.
API quick start
Call the Neta Lumina API in three steps
- Create an API key. Sign in to PopNow and create a key in the API console. Keys start with sk-popnow- and use the same credits as the website.
- Send the request. POST /jobs/createTask with model neta-art/neta-lumina/text-to-image and an input object that follows the parameter table. The response returns a task ID straight away.
- Get the result. Poll GET /jobs/recordInfo with the task ID, or pass a callBackUrl and we post the result to it. Download the output links when the task succeeds.
# 1. Create the task. Keep the Idempotency-Key if you retry after a network error.
export IDEMPOTENCY_KEY="$(uuidgen)"
curl -X POST https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/createTask \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-d '{
"model": "neta-art/neta-lumina/text-to-image",
"input": {
"prompt": "A ceramic teapot on a linen cloth, soft window light, muted palette",
"aspect_ratio": "1:1",
"output_format": "jpeg"
}
}'
# 2. Copy data.taskId from the response, then poll until state is succeeded, failed, canceled or expired.
TASK_ID="TASK_ID_FROM_RESPONSE"
curl "https://api.popnow.ai/api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=$TASK_ID" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY"Replace the prompt and any links with your own. The API tab has the response, polling and callback reference.
Neta Lumina API questions
How much does the Neta Lumina API cost?
Neta Lumina costs 2 credits ($0.02) per image. Credits are the same as on the website (1 credit = $0.01), new accounts get 30 free credits, and failed tasks are refunded.
What is the model name for Neta Lumina in the API?
Put neta-art/neta-lumina/text-to-image for Create Image in the model field of POST /jobs/createTask.
What is Neta Lumina?
An anime image model from Neta.art Lab, fine-tuned from Alpha-VLLM's open Lumina-Image-2.0 on a large set of anime images and multilingual tag data. Its text encoder is Google's Gemma 2B language model, which is why it follows full sentences as well as tags.
Should I prompt with tags or with sentences?
Either, or both. Tags give tight control over head count, outfits and poses; sentences are better at describing a scene, a camera angle and the light. Our examples use both styles.
Does the same seed give the same image?
A fixed seed keeps runs comparable while you change one tag at a time. It does not guarantee identical pixels on every run.
What are the limits of the Neta Lumina API?
Aspect ratios: 1:1 · 16:9 · 9:16 · 4:3 · 3:4 · 3:2 +3; Prompt length (characters): 5,000. Requests outside these limits are rejected before anything is charged.
Can I try Neta Lumina without writing code?
Yes. The Playground runs Neta Lumina on your PopNow credits, needs no API key, and shows the matching code for every run.
