The model has 8.3 billion parameters, yet in our tests faces, skin, hair and fabric looked photographic and moved without melting.
Four frame sizes
aspect_ratio and resolution combine into 832 x 480, 480 x 832, 1280 x 720 or 720 x 1280, so vertical clips are composed for the screen, not cropped.
Negative prompt
List what you never want to see. It is the quickest fix for stray text, warped hands or blur.

Call the HunyuanVideo 1.5 API in three steps

What is HunyuanVideo 1.5?
An open video model from Tencent's Hunyuan team, released in November 2025. Tencent describes it as an 8.3-billion-parameter diffusion transformer with a 3D causal VAE and an attention scheme that skips redundant parts of the video, built to run on consumer GPUs.
How long and how large are the clips?
5 or 8 seconds at 24 frames per second, at 480p or 720p. Text-to-video gives 832 x 480, 480 x 832, 1280 x 720 or 720 x 1280; image-to-video keeps the shape of your photo.
Does it generate sound?
No. The clips are silent MP4 files with no audio track. Add sound in your own edit, or pick a model that generates audio with the picture.
Do I need a prompt for image-to-video?
No. The prompt is optional there: without one the model animates the photo on its own. With one, describe the motion and the camera, not the photo itself.
How long does a clip take?
In our tests a 5-second 480p clip took about one to two and a half minutes of model time, and a 5-second 720p clip about two and a half to four minutes.
What are the limits of the HunyuanVideo 1.5 API?
