# Install a PopNow agent skill

You were asked to install a PopNow skill. You need its slug (for example `sketchnote-deck`); it is in the user's request.

## 1. Check the API key

The download needs the user's PopNow API key in the `POPNOW_API_KEY` environment variable.
If it is not set, stop and ask the user to create a key at https://popnow.ai/api/console/keys and export it. Never print the key.

## 2. Pick the skills folder for the agent you are

Use the personal folder unless the user asked for this project only. Several agents also read `~/.agents/skills`.

## 3. Download and unzip

The archive holds one folder, `popnow-<slug>/`, with a `SKILL.md` inside. A 401 means the key is missing or wrong; a 404 means the slug is wrong.

## 4. Confirm

Read `popnow-<slug>/SKILL.md` and tell the user, in one or two sentences, what the skill makes, what it needs (for example Python 3, Node.js or FFmpeg), and how to call it.
Some agents only load new skills in a new session; say so if that applies.

## Notes

- Steps that generate images, video, music or voice spend PopNow credits. The skill quotes the price and waits for the user's yes before every paid run.
- The skill is licensed for the user's own personal and client work; do not publish or redistribute the package.
